Not compatible Exynos models, including SM-G780F / r8s, are not compatible. Never flash an r8q build onto r8s.

Carrier/SIM unlock and bootloader unlock are not the same. Regional variants may need different modem, CSC or firmware versions. Do not use another model’s instructions.

Recovery

The right recovery

Use the recovery specified by the release guide for your exact model.

A recovery for a different variant may not be compatible. The final guide will identify the required version and installation method.

Installation

The outline below explains what to prepare. It is not a flashing procedure; recovery, partition and installation details must come from the release-specific guide.

Before installation

Check the full model number in Settings → About phone and confirm it is explicitly verified for the build.
Back up important files and account recovery information away from the phone.
Check the guide’s bootloader, firmware and recovery requirements. SIM unlock does not mean bootloader unlock.
Read known issues and verify the downloaded build’s checksum.

Recovery & ROM installation

The final guide will cover download mode, installing the required recovery, any required data formatting and the supported ROM installation method. Do not use instructions or partition commands from another model.

Exact steps are not published yet. Do not begin flashing from this outline.

First boot & checks

Follow the release guide’s first-boot instructions and expected timing. Check the reported build, mobile connection and essential functions before restoring your data. Release-specific troubleshooting will be included with the guide.

This does not mean the build is free of issues. Review the list for your release before installing.

Security & maintenance

Security isn’t
an afterthought.

We aim to integrate newer Android and Samsung security patches as quickly as responsible testing allows.

Reforge UI is unofficial software. Progress depends on available Samsung and donor firmware, patch availability, vendor and kernel compatibility, and device-specific testing.

A newer Android security patch level does not, by itself, mean every proprietary vendor, modem or device-firmware component has been updated. Release notes should make those limits clear.

Integrate & validate

Check available fixes against the Samsung base and the device’s vendor and kernel components.

Supporter beta

Validated integrations are intended to reach supporter beta builds first for wider testing.

Public stable

Stable builds follow after suitable testing. Critical fixes are not reserved for paying supporters.

There is no guaranteed monthly patch schedule, complete security coverage or promise of indefinite support. No release security patch date is published yet.
