The project

Reforge UI is an independent custom One UI community project. These terms cover this website and Reforge-controlled materials, subject to applicable law. They do not replace the licences of software included in a build.

Samsung and Galaxy are trademarks of their respective owners. Reforge UI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or officially associated with Samsung Electronics.

Compatibility and installation

Reforge UI targets Galaxy S20 FE 4G and 5G models with Snapdragon processors. Exynos models are not supported. A model belonging to this family does not mean a release is verified for it. Exynos SM-G780F / r8s cannot use r8q builds. No public stable release is currently available. Check the release-specific installation requirements before flashing.

Custom ROM installation requires technical knowledge and may erase device data. Back up important information. Bootloader changes may affect security, warranty or support. You are responsible for checking the model, verifying the downloaded file and following the applicable installation instructions.

Do not rely on the website as a substitute for release-specific instructions. No availability, performance, battery-life or fitness-for-purpose guarantee is made.

Different owners, different licences

Reforge-controlled materials may include the project name, logo, original artwork, website design and content, original applications and project-specific services. Rights apply only to materials the project owns or is authorised to control.

Linux, AOSP, Samsung software and third-party libraries are not claimed as Reforge property. Copyright, attribution, notices and licence terms remain with their respective owners. Proprietary third-party components may have separate restrictions; these terms grant no additional rights to them.

Open-source rights

Open-source components remain governed by their applicable licences, including the GPL, Apache and MIT licences where relevant. Nothing here removes or limits rights those licences grant to use, inspect, modify or redistribute covered software.

Where source-code, attribution, licence-notice or other distribution obligations apply, distributors must meet those obligations. Release-specific licence and source information should be consulted alongside the release. Acceptance of these website terms does not require giving up open-source rights.

Modified builds and branding

Clearly identify modified or unofficial builds as such. Do not present them as official Reforge UI releases or imply approval, sponsorship or endorsement by the project.

Do not use official Reforge signing credentials, misrepresent a signature or access official project services without authorisation. Permission to modify or redistribute software does not by itself grant permission to use project trademarks or branding in a misleading way.

These identity and service conditions are separate from, and do not override, rights granted by applicable software licences.

Website use and external services

Use the website lawfully. Do not attempt to compromise its security, interfere with availability or obtain unauthorised access to services. Reported release details may change as the project develops.

External websites and services are governed by their own terms. A link is not a guarantee of availability, suitability or security.

Optional financial support

Reforge Supporter payments are not currently available. The planned membership price is £2.99 per month. Planned future benefits are not current entitlements, and payment, renewal, cancellation and refund terms will be published before subscriptions begin.

Stable Reforge UI releases will remain available for free. Critical fixes will not be reserved for paying supporters. Contributions do not purchase a guaranteed release date or a particular feature.

Responsibility and legal rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law and component licences, project materials are provided as available without additional warranties. Custom software carries risks, including malfunction and data loss.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, limits mandatory consumer rights, or overrides a component licence. These terms do not claim that every restriction is enforceable in every jurisdiction.

Updates

Terms may be updated as the project and its services change. Review the terms accompanying the release or service you use. Later website changes do not revoke rights already granted by an applicable open-source licence.
